MoveIn is a movement of regular Christians prayerfully moving in among the unreached urban poor.

What We Stand For
MoveIn is about copying Jesus’ example by literally moving in to the community.
It is time for Christians to reconsider where they live. It seems to have become the norm for Christians to move into a community because it is convenient and comfortable, and not because of a calling to reach that community. We prefer to avoid uncomfortable or potentially unsafe communities. This shouldn’t be the case.
God is calling us to care for the marginalized, live among them and then love the neighbors around us. He is asking us to move into communities burdened by economic, educational and social problems like poverty, dropping out of school and unemployment.
We are ‘moving in’ because Christ did it first.

Our Focus
PRAYER
Prayer is our primary commitment. ‘MoveIners’ pray together weekly in the community for the community.
PRESENCE
We move right into the community and are present in the lives of our neighbors. We desire more of God’s presence among us and in our communities.
THE UNREACHED, URBAN POOR
We only move into high-density city communities among people who are poor and are unreached.
REGULAR PEOPLE
We are regular people, not professional ministers. We have jobs or are students. We come from a variety of denominations of churches.
MAKING DISCIPLES
We help others follow Jesus and know the love of God.

How to Join
1. CONTACT US
While there are no application forms or interviews, we'd love to support and have a conversation with you.
2. FIND A PLACE TO LIVE
Visit your desired community and look for an available room or house to rent. Begin to form friendships in the community.
3. FORM YOUR TEAM
Thriving and sustainable teams are made up of 3 or more committed team members. Consider who might join you on this journey and invite them.
4. MOVE IN
Move in to your new home with your teammate(s).
5. PRAY WEEKLY
Spend time each week praying with your team. This is the foundation of everything we do.
6. PLUG IN
Stay connected with the other MoveIn teams through occasional gatherings and prayer for each other.
